‘Samudratheeram‘ is a heaven of love that provides safety and shelter to the lonesome and secluded people during the sunset days of their lives. It was the vision and big dreams of a man named Ruval Singh to arrange a joint family for the old-age people who have become a burden in their own homes and are shunned by family members. With the launching of this new enterprise, Samudratheeram, Ruval’s dream was fulfilled. The motto “Let’s nurse the old people not by medicine, but by mind” has become a reality here. More and more old people are seeking shelter at Samudratheeram joint family as they find it a haven of love, care, and protection. How delighted the inmates are! The sparkle in the eyes of the inmates not only reveals that they have recaptured what was lost but also that they begin to enjoy the present life with too much sweetness. The inmates are experiencing a sense of belonging as they live together in the serene ambience and atmosphere of a joint family.
Shakespeare wrote, “When sorrows come, they come not as single spies, but in battalions.” A person destined to face sorrows one after another in their life will be in a depressed condition without any hope to live. Hence, one must be bold to face the harsh realities of life with an optimistic note that good can come out of any adversity. Each inmate’s mind was filled with a heap of sorrows. When a person in trouble or under a lot of strain finds an outlet for their worries, it relieves half their burden. Ruval Singh’s struggles to give a new life to deprived old-age people are achieving success with the birth of his dream home. Willpower, determination, perseverance, and strong confidence were the capitals that helped Ruval transform his dream into a reality. Attaining success in life is not an easy task. For this, one must be bold enough to face obstacles, failures, and hardships until they reach their destined place. Ruval Singh faced a lot of hardships and obstacles, but he was confident that he could get through successfully. His tireless efforts finally resulted in the foundation of Samudra Charitable Trust and the birth of the Secular Old Age Home, Samudratheeram. Samudra Charitable Trust was formed in 2017. It is located in Kalluvathukkal near Chathannoor in Kollam district. The Trust decided to focus its activities on charity and social work. In the initial stage itself, the Trust’s activities could wipe the tears of many. Now, the Trust has become a ray of hope for so many people suffering due to ailments and adverse family circumstances. Consequently, the number of people seeking shelter in this peaceful home has increased significantly. At this phase, Ruval Singh decided to widen the functioning of the Trust, as he still has a long way to go
